IBM Company
Cairo - MENA

IBM Wednesday announced the opening of a state of the art digital sales center at Egypt's Smart Village.
The three-million-dollar investment will serve IBM clients in the Middle East.
It enables a new digital based system of engagement and transforms the way in which IBM engages with clients and business partners.
Clients will now experience increased personalization, innovation and efficient collaboration through digital and social platforms.
Speaking about the launch, Bruno Di Leo, Senior Vice President of IBM Sales & Distribution said, the new center is their sixth in Cairo.
It is the first of its kind in the African continent and third worldwide, Di Leo told MENA.
Already two other digital sales centers are operating in Dallas and Dublin and they serve neighboring areas, Di Leo said.
The Big Blue will continue its investments in Egypt in the coming stage Di Leo said, adding that the company will take part in the economic conference that will be held in the Egyptian Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh in March.
IBM and Egypt have been partners since 1954, Di Leo said. He touched upon many IBM investments in the Arab country, the latest being the center inaugurated today.
Judy Buchholz, General Manager of IBM's Global Inside Sales, said the new center will secure many jobs based on skills and experience in the communications and sales field.
She said the center will use advanced technology tools that are convenient to clients in the Middle East and Africa.
Assistant Communications Minister Noha Adli said the new center offers non-traditional call-center services through high tech.
But it is not only about technology, the center is also investing in human cadres and creating jobs based on specialized skills and experience.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony was also Hussein el Greitli, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA).
He considered the opening of the new center a strong entrance to the Egyptian market.
The new IBM center depends on leading technologies, Greitli said.
It will secure 25 jobs in the first phase, he said, expecting that to gradually increase to 70. This figure is likely to double within the next two years.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Tuesday received a delegation of IBM.
Ginni Rometty, President and Chief Executive Officer of IBM was then accompanied by Communications Minister Atef Helmy to the Smart Village, where she planted a development tree.
Helmy and Rometty discussed IBM investment opportunities in Egypt.
