Yuzhno - Novosti

General Electric will supply Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk heat power plant No.1 in Russia's Far East with two turbines, a regional government spokesman told RIA Novosti on Monday. The turbines will be used in the fourth power generating unit which is now under construction. "Pre-commissioning works are planned for the first quarter of 2013, while the fourth power generating unit will be launched in fall of the same year. At the same time we will launch the fifth unit, and the plant will work on gas, cutting toxic emissions considerably," the spokesman said.
