The Zayed Giving Initiative has doubled its humanitarian programmes at local and international levels to alleviate suffering of the needy people worldwide.
The initiative seeks to recruit one million multinational volunteers to train them in humanitarian fields, especially in the medical fields, to curb the spread of diseases and educate people about preventive measures.
Coinciding with World Humanitarian Day, which is observed on 19th August each year, the Zayed Giving Initiative issues an annual report about its humanitarian and voluntary programmes in line with the legacy outlined by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the UAE's founding father, which is sustained by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The initiative offers curative, surgical and preventive medical programmes to needy heart patients, children and others with participation of specialists from the UAE, France, Britain, Canada, Italy, Argentina, Arab and African states.
