Turbine Services & Solutions, TS&S, wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company, on Tuesday announced that it has delivered the first full-life overhaul 50,000-hour service on a Siemens Industrial Trent gas, SGT-A65TR, turbine.
The announcement marks the very first completion of this type of service and establishes TS&S as a world-renowned centre for skilled turbine repair services in the UAE and broader Middle East region.
TS&S was accredited last year as the first independently owned, specialised and independent maintenance, repair and operations, MRO, provider with the capability to support both the Industrial Trent WLE and DLE variants for Siemens, becoming the first non-OEM Trent MRO provider globally with this capability.
Abdullah Al Shadid, Chairman of TS&S, commented, "This operational milestone is one to celebrate. Due to its established partnership with Siemens and other OEMs, TS&S has become a world-class player, as well as a home-grown champion for the burgeoning MRO industry in the region. TS&S continues to strengthen its strategic offering as it emerges as a reliable partner to industry players operating within a geography that contains many oil and gas, and industrial businesses. "
John Panton, Capability Project Manager, Siemens, said, "We are pleased that TS&S with support from Siemens has completed their first industrial Trent full-life engine overhaul. The teamwork and collaboration involved with the successful completion of this key milestone capability for the region were substantial, ultimately resulting in improved global service network coverage. It will be significant in terms of supporting and developing the Siemens AGT and TS&S businesses. This is a platform on which we can move forward, delivering world-class service to our customers."
