President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has appreciated the role of the Arab and Kuwaiti funds in boosting the socio-economic development in Sudan.
This came when he received Wednesday in his residence at Bayan Palace the Director of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Fund, Abdul-Latif Yousif Al-Hamad, by the end of his visit to Kuwait.
President Al-Bashir has lauded the remarkable contribution of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Fund in supporting development in Sudan.
In a statement to SUNA, Al-Hamad said that acquainted President Al-Bashir with the future projects of the bank in Sudan in the fields of water, electricity, agriculture and the social services field.
He said that the fund is giving priority to the implantation of projects in Sudan.
He said that they discussed the implementation of projects in Sudan, top of them is Al-Bagair electricity project which will be co-funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Fund and the Saudi Development Fund.
He indicated that President Al-Bashir has called on the fund to finance a project for transporting water to Port-Sudan.
President Al-Bashir also met in his residence the Delegate Member of the Arab Investment Corporation, Badr Mohamed Al-Saad, and discussed importance of cooperation between Sudan and the corporation in different fields.
He referred to the history of the corporation in implementing projects in Sudan, top of them was Kenana Sugar Company.
He said that the corporation aims for implementing projects in Sudan at the field of Arab food security.
