Oman and the United Kingdom discussed investment and bilateral cooperation issues on Monday.
The discussions came when Darwish bin Ismail Al Balushi, Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs received Liam Fox, the United Kingdom Secretary of State for International Trade who is currently visiting the Sultanate.
The meeting discussed means of developing the existing relations and bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries,
especially in fields related to investments.
The Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs explained to the guest the efforts made by the Sultanate’s government to diversify sources of national income and the financial policies followed by the government to improve financial performance and empower the financial sector to contribute to the development process.
He also highlighted the foreign investments and the turn out by investors to the Sultanate; thanks to the economic and financial stability it enjoys.
The United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for International Trade expressed admiration of the financial and economic policies adopted by the Sultanate’s government and hailed the government’s programmes and efforts in the financial and economic sectors.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, the United Kingdom’s accredited Ambassador to the Sultanate and the delegation accompanying the Secretary of State for International Trade.
