The Board of Trustees of the National Centre of Meteorology & Seismology, NCMS, has held a meeting to discuss its organisational structure, as well as to review its 2016 accounts and budget for 2017.
The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Centre. The discussion included a review of the latest developments on the construction of the centre s new building, which is scheduled to open this year.
There was also a review on the development of a factory and laboratory facility for rain-making chemicals, considered to be the first of its kind in the region. A number of managerial projects were also submitted during the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Rashid Saeed Al Ameri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs for Government Coordination Sector and the Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Centre; Abdullah Ahmed Al Mandoos, the Executive Director of the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology; and others.
