Kuwaiti National Assembly Deputy Speaker Mubarak Bunaiah al Khurainej highlighted the strong ties binding his country and Egypt, noting those relations are historic at the popular and official levels.
This came during a meeting he had with an Egyptian media delegation grouping managing editors, journalists and writers on Tuesday visiting Kuwait.
Al Khurainej said Kuwait backs Egypt at the political, economic and tourist levels, noting the two countries stand side by side in the war on terror.
Kuwait will never forget the support it got from Egypt during the Saddam Hussein war on Kuwait, said the deputy speaker, adding that the Egyptian community in Kuwait is one of the biggest in the Arab state.
He drew attention to the incident that happened to two Egyptians in Kuwait, noting that such individual incidents can never affect the deeply rooted ties binding the two Arab states.
Al Khurainej called for jointly facing all parties that try to invest in such incidents, urging the media to take the right stance and leave the case to justice.
"We believe in the fair trials in Kuwait and Egypt," he pointed out.
