The Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation, KZHF, in implementation of directives from President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, yesterday began distribution of food aid to the brotherly Somali people, who are suffering from difficult humanitarian situations due to drought.
The assistance included distribution of 500 food packages containing aid for the affected Somali families.
An official source in the KZHF said that the foundation team currently in Hargesia is overseeing the distribution process in co-operation with the local authorities in Hargeisa.
The Somali people commended the UAE and KZHF for their efforts in helping relieve suffering.
