A Jordanian official said his country signed Tuesday a grant agreement of 200 million U.S. dollars with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
It is part of a grant totaling 1.25 billion dollars to the kingdom, Imad Fakhoury, Jordan's minister of planing and international cooperation, said at a press conference.
The grant, extended by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, will be used to finance a project to expand and improve the Royal Medical Service facility in Jordan's capital Amman, he said.
The project, expected to be completed by 2022, includes building a new hospital with a capacity of more than 900 beds, the minister added.
