Minister of Investment Ashraf Salman and Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Khaled Hanafi attended Sunday the celebration of the end of the Lactimed project, funded by the European Union.
The project is the first experimental model of the first industrial-agricultural complex of traditional dairy products in Egypt.
The project aims at promoting for dairy products in the Mediterranean and developing research, creativity and transfer of technology in this sector as well as opening new markets abroad, according to the project's General Coordinator Heba Mamdouh.
The 4.35-million-euro project was implemented for two and a half years from November 2012 to May 2015, she said.
The Lactimed groups a number of partners in the Mediterranean, namely Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, France, Italy and Greece.
