Doha - KUNA

Chairman of the GCC Consultative Authority Mubarak Al-Khater said Saturday members of authorities discussed during their Saturday meeting the development of partnership between public and private sectors.
Speaking to the official QNA news agency after the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Khater said the members discussed improvement of income of citizens of Gulf cooperation Council (GCC) member states, oil and gas resources, and importance of preserving these resources for strategic development.
He said participants formed committees to discuss these issues and report back to the Consultative Authority members when they meet in Muscat, Oman, in April.
Al-Khater said the meeting was "successful and constructive." At the opening of the meeting earlier today, Qatari Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Attiyah said cooperation and integration among the six GCC countries would strengthen their economic, social, political and security bonds He said Qatar, the rotating GCC President, looked forward for the authority's strengthening of partnership between the public and private sectors, growth of GCC nationals' income and their well-being, the future of oil and gas as a source of wealth and energy in GCC states and the importance of maintaining them as a strategic, security and developmental choice.
The Consultative Authority consists of 30 members, five of each member country.
