Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) is planning to distribute thousands of more food parcels in the Governorate of Aden and other areas in Yemen.
The food stuff was provided by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
Fahd Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, Deputy Secretary General of the ERC told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) in a statement that work is underway to prepare thousands of food parcels to be distributed in a number of Yemeni governorates.
He added that this humanitarian aid is part of the urgent relief programme ordered by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and followed up by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the ERC.
He noted that each food parcel will be issued to a family comprising 5 to 7 members, and added that the parcel includes rice, flour, sugar, oil, salt, tuna, vegetables, beans, tea and others.
