President Abdel Fattah El Sisi approved on Thursday the statute of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) which was signed in Astana in February 2016.
The organization aims at providing its member states with expertise and technical knowledge in the various fields of sustainable agriculture, rural development and food security as well as combating desertification and soil erosion and piling food security reserves.
The parliament approved the statute in June 2018.
The decree on Sisi's endorsement of the document was published in the gazette out Thursday.
