The trade surplus between Egypt, Sudan and South Sudan was down from $459.1 million in 2013 to $280.1 million in 2014.

Egypt's exports to Sudan and South Sudan declined in 2014 reaching $394 million against $533.4 million in 2013, while its imports rose, recording $113.9 million against $74.3 million in 2013, according to a report by the Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

Preventive drugs ($30.9 million) topped Egypt's exports to Sudan and South Sudan in 2014, followed by cane and beet sugar ($25 million).

As for Egypt's imports, grains and oilseeds ($17.9 million) came first and second was cotton not carded or combed ($8.3 million), the report concluded.
