Head of Port Said Port Authority Medhat Atiya said work will start within days in the East Port Said port projects upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
In statements on Monday Atiya said dredging works will start on August 7 to develop East Port Said port, one day after the inauguration of the new Suez canal project on August 6, pointing out that the port will be among the 10 biggest ports in the world.
Egyptians are gearing up for inauguration celebrations which will continue for days as the inauguration will be attended by a large number of world figures.
The Cairo-Ismailia desert road is decorated with Egypt's flag as part of the celebrations.
