Under-secretary for Municipal Affairs at the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry Dr. Nabeel Abu Al Fateh received here today Director-General of the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) Dr. Tariq ibn Musa Al Zadjali.During the meeting, Dr. Nabeel Abu Al Fateh lauded the key role played by AOAD in tackling issues related to food, farming, plant and livestock across the Arab world.He also asserted that the kingdom is currently implementing the National Strategy for Sustainable Agricultural Development aiming to consolidate food security, take care of animal and plant resources and support farmers, in line with directives from the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister Dr. Joma'a bin Ahmed Al Ka'abi.He also highlighted the wise leadership's keen interest in the agricultural development in the kingdom, given its essential role in achieving sustainable development, adding that the Economic Vision for Bahrain, 2030 and the National Strategy, inaugurated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, are backed by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB).He also pointed out that the National Strategy for Agricultural Development, inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), is a comprehensive road map for ways of upgrading agriculture in the kingdom, hailing her constant support for the ministry's plans in this regard.He also pledged that the ministry will do its utmost to consolidate the agricultural sector in the kingdom in order to meet the aspirations of the wise leadership.On his part, AOAD Director-General praised the Kingdom's Agricultural Strategy, reiterating AOAD's support for all the initiatives taken by Bahrain in this concern.Fish farming and aqua culture, as well as ways of protecting livestock from diseases, were also spotlighted.
