Rafah - Yosry Mohamed

A security source at Rafah crossing said that for the 29th day, Egyptian authorities have allowed trucks loaded with building materials to pass through Rafah border crossing, into Gaza, within the framework of Qatari projects to reconstruct Gaza Strip. The source revealed that 63 trucks crossed over on Wednesday, carrying 1965 cubic metres of "small gravel." During the last month, 1176 trucks have entered Gaza carrying 31,819 cubic metres of gravel. According to the agreement with Qatar, building materials are being sent in batches. The move sees the implementation of the Egyptian-Qatari contract, in which the two countries agreed that the Egyptian authorities will provide all the materials required for reconstruction work in Gaza. The materials are directly entering Gaza Strip through Rafah, instead of Awja and Kerem Shalom crossings.
