Supply police at Sohag security directorate seized on Thursday more than three tons of subsidized sugar.
Investigations revealed that two persons in Tahta town were arrested on charges of collecting large quantities of subsidized sugar to be sold on the black market.
Security authorities launched a crackdown on smuggled goods upon directives issued by Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar to intensify surveillance on markets to fight commercial fraud and control prices.
