Twenty-eight businesses from France are participating in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2017, which is currently being held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Under the umbrella of 'Business France', the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, the country is running two French pavilions, one at the World Future Energy Summit, WFES and the other at the International Water Summit, IWS, in Abu Dhabi.
The companies are showcasing their latest technology, innovations and products for the middle east markets in renewable energy, water treatment equipment, wind energy, solar thermal energy and hydroelectric power.
According to Marc Cagnard, Middle East Director at Business France, "The WFES/IWS trade shows represent key events for French companies which are aiming to export. Our country is number one producer of water and waste treatment equipment and number one in water and waste management.
He said that French firms like Veolia and Suez put the nation at the forefront internationally. "We are one of the top five global exporters of air treatment equipment and offer the second-largest wind power potential in Europe. France is also Europe's number four producer of wind and solar thermal energy. Many projects underway in the GCC are attracting high-performing French firms in the renewable energy, water and waste sectors.
"Attending WFES and IWS gives us an opportunity to consolidate French local presence," he added
