The Desert Botanical Garden, in collaboration with Ballet Arizona, proudly invites you to the premiere of Topia, inspired by the natural beauty of the Sonoran desert landscape. The ballet will be performed in an intimate desert space of the Garden overlooking the dynamic red rocks of the Papago Buttes. Audiences will be inspired to see world class ballet and a world class garden through new eyes. Ib Andersen, Artistic Director of Ballet Arizona, has created this new and site specific work that will feature the full company of Ballet Arizona dancers in a panoramic performance on an 80 foot stage. This stage, to be used for the first time at Topia, was designed specifically for this unique environment inhabited by ancient cultures. Enjoy an alfresco dinner and toast the sunset as it ignites the red rocks. Become part of the Topia dance experience, where nature and art merge to become one!
