Lana Del Rey is the inspiration behind James Franco's new book, Flip-Side: Real and Imaginary Conversations with Lana Del Rey.
The 37-year-old actor co-wrote the book with his former writing professor, David Shields, whom he recently collaborated with on an adaptation of Shields and Caleb Powell's book I Think You're Totally Wrong: A Quarrel.
Franco penned an essay about Del Rey for V magazine's spring issue, praising the 30-year-old singer as a dedicated artist with a "haunting voice." Del Rey was quoted as saying, "Just write around me, it's better if it's not my own words. It's almost better if you don't get me exactly, but try."
The 100-page Flip-Side will be released March 15, 2016. The cover features photos of the actor with Del Rey, her sister Chuck Grant and Museum of Modern Art director Kalus Biesenbach at Fort Tilden beach in New York in July 2014.
