The Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival, SICFF, organised by ‘FUNN’, Sharjah Media Arts for Youth and Children, has concluded its last series of film screenings and activities in Al Thaid, Al Madam, Al Hamriya and Al Bataeh.
The events marked the end of this year’s edition, which was based at the Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, JRCC, from 8th - 13th October, although the screenings outside of the venue played an integral part in the success of the festival by reaching all cities in Sharjah and enhancing the attraction of filmmaking to younger generations.
After the conclusion of the festival at JRCC, a series of film screenings was held in Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn and Khorfakkan from 15th - 31st October. Following that, the tour continued to other venues to provide children and young people the opportunity to watch films that were previously shown at JRCC and Novo Cinemas, as well as take part in training workshops and other activities.
Sheikha Jawaher bint Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of FUNN and SICFF, said, "The festival has once again helped to create great interest and nurture children’s filmmaking talents, giving them some expert advice and insights into the art of cinema. It also brought together a host of established filmmakers to educate the youngsters on the latest techniques.
"This reflected the calibre of the industry experts taking part and the knowledge they have gained at some of the most significant cinema production studios in the world," she added.
