Cultural Village (Katara) General Director Dr. Khaled binIbrahim Al-Sulaiti on Tuesday met with Peru’s Deputy Minister of Culture Luis JaimeCastillo in the presence of HE Peruvian Ambassador to Doha Julio Florian Alegre.Castillo expressed his country’s keenness on holding cultural events at Katara inorder to educate the Qatari society about Peru’s culture through performances thatdeepen ties of friendship between the two countries in the wake of the recent visit toDoha by Peruvian president.The Peruvian delegation expressed admiration at Katara and its role in enrichingthe cultural arena in Qatar, Gulf and all over the world thanks to the variety ofcultural events and activities.Commenting on the visit, Dr. Al-Sulaiti said the two sides discussed the possibility ofholding joint events, adding that Castillo proposed a cooperation project withKatara to organize an event that highlights the culture of Peru. He added that Katara is always keen to host cultural events from all over the worldin order to bring peoples together and promote the Qatari culture while absorbingother cultures and learning about them.
