The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the 25th Arab Writers' General Assembly under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture, Her Excellency Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, themed (Word for the sake of Humankind) with participation anticipated from a large number of members of the of Arab writers' guilds in the period 21-25 December 2012. The chief of Bahraini Writers' Guild, Poet Ebrahim Bu Hindi said that the Arab Writers' Congress conducts similar assembly meetings each and every three years in order to elect its secretary-general and members of the general-secretariat as well as to conduct its poetry festival's and associated seminars chosen by the host country. Bu Hindi issued a statement today in which he pointed out that the Writers' Guild decided to commemorate two Bahraini artists, intellectuals and writers namely Dr. Mohammed Jabir Al-Ansari and the late writer Ebrahim Al-Urrayed. For this purpose the Writers' Guild will organize two seminars: 1- themed: (Al-Ansari as a thinker) in which Dr. Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, Dr. Baqer An-Najjar and Dr. Mohammed Numan Jalal are keynote speakers and 2- (Al-Urrayed the Literary Writer) in which Dr. Hussein Khamri, Dr. Othman Badri, Dr. Abdulhameed and Dr. Abdulqader Faidhouh amongst others will lecture during the conference in addition to poetry evenings in which a large gathering of poets partake from Arab countries including Bahrain are expected to particiapte.
