An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale hit off the west coast of northern Sumatra, Indonesia, in the wee hours of Sunday, the US Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 9.7 km, was initially determined to be at 2.613 degrees north latitude and 90.490 degrees east longitude.
