Stephen Keshi revealed on Monday that he has begun talks with the Nigerian Football Federation's president Aminu Maigari on the vacant Nigeria coaching post. “Yes, I have been in talks with the president of the federation and as a professional, I will embrace the challenge, as I want to give my best to salvage the current situation,” Stephan Keshi was quoted as saying by KickOff.com. “So if they ask me to take the job, I will do just that, but that has not been concluded yet,” he added. Nigeria are looking for a new coach to replace Samson Siassia, dismissed last Friday after the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the 2012 African Cup of Nations. On the other hand the federation's president Aminu Maigari denied Keshi’s talks and added that only the Nigerian technical committee has the right to choose Siassia’s successor. “The last time I spoke to Keshi was when he came for that interview, before the job was given to Samson Siassia,” Maigari said.“We have given the job of recommending a coach to the technical committee and I cannot go behind their backs to start talking to a coach. When they have looked at the options and made their recommendation, we can start looking at talking to those people,” Maigari added "But for now, I can tell you that I have not spoken to Keshi."
