Former world champion and current member of the Management Board of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ Organising Committee (LOC) Ronaldo Luis Nazario de Lima has formally welcomed new LOC chairman Jose Maria Marin to the role. "I regret the departure of Ricardo Teixeira but we have to respect his decision to look after his health and family," said the former striker. "I’ve already spoken to the new chairman and we plan discuss all matters together and take decisions like in a collegiate body. I’m certain that this will be a smooth transition for all the LOC management team and for FIFA here in Brazil. "The work of the LOC is progressing very well and all our tasks are being completed successfully," he continued. "It’s vital we keep our focus, as ahead of us we have the job of monitoring [the progress of] the stadiums, selecting National Team Training Centres and Official Training Pitches, as well as reaching important milestones like unveiling the Official Slogan and Mascot of the FIFA World Cup."
