Ronaldo: Our performance against Malaga was ‘one of our best’

The Portugal international reflects on Los Blancos’ comprehensive victory over the Andalucian side at the weekend and is hopeful of scoring his 100th goal for the Madrid giants.Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo believes that their performance against Malaga on Saturday was one of their best and he is looking forward to reaching a century of goals for the Spanish giants.Los Blancos defeated Malaga 4-0 at La Rosaleda in their Primera Division clash, with all four goals coming in the first 38 minutes.Gonzalo Higuain broke the deadlock for Madrid as early as the 11th minute, with Ronaldo doubling his side’s advantage in the 24th minute.The Portuguese went on to complete his hat-trick in the next 14 minutes to go joint-top with Barcelona forward Lionel Messi on 10 goals in the Liga goalscoring chart, taking his tally to 98 competitive goals for Madrid.Jose Mourinho’s side are currently second in the league on 19 points from eight matches, one behind leaders Levante, and Ronaldo is glad to have played his part in Madrid’s impressive displays in the early stages of the season."I am very happy with the three goals but obviously the key was the victory," the 26-year-old is quoted as saying by AFP.“Some days you give assists and others you score, that is how a team works so I wasn't worried during the period when I wasn't finding the back of the net.“It was a great game from us and I think it was one of our best. It will be great to reach 100 goals this season but the team is what is important and now we have another important game against Villarreal."Madrid will take on the Yellow Submarine at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday at 2200 CET.
