Juan Mata and manager Andre Villas-Boas are in agreement that it is too soon to start comparing the winger to Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola. The Spaniard's impressive form since his £23.5million arrival at Stamford Bridge in the summer has prompted comparisons with ex-Blues forward Zola. But while flattered by the appraisal, Mata insists he is yet to reach the level set by the Italian ace.The winger told the Sunday People: "Zola is a legend - it's an honour to be compared to him, but I've got lots to do before I can get close to him."Villas-Boas understands the comparisons, but added: "Well, yes, because he's a historical Chelsea player who represents lots for our fans."But it's still a long, long process. This is only the beginning."Zola was already 30 when he joined Chelsea, meaning Mata has plenty of time to try to emulate the extraordinary standards set by the Italian.Villas-Boas said: "It depends on whether you keep yourself injury-free."At the moment, everything is working pretty good for him."He took a minimum time to adapt, which is excellent news for us but the future depends on how he continues to perform and continues to compete, hopefully to the excellent standard he is showing."The manager believes Mata is already on a par with Manchester City ace David Silva after Everton boss David Moyes declared the winger was on course to emulate his fellow Spaniard. He added: "I think that level has already been reached!"
