Udinese in the Champions League, Lecce relegated to Serie B: these are the main results of the final round of the Italian Serie A. And it was an emotional conclusion of the season because of the goodbye of several important players, like Del Piero, who leaves Juventus after almost 20 years. He arrived in Turin in 1993, and leaves the club after winning all there is to win. He even scored a goal in his last match with his Juventus, which beat Atalanta 3-1, closing a season in which the team never lost. More important players said goodbye this weekend: Milan symbol Rino Gattuso, like Del Piero, continues his career elsewhere, and Alessandro Nesta leaves Milan after ten seasons, probably headed for the U.S. Milan beat Novara 2-1 with goals scored by Inzaghi (156th goal in 300 matches with Milan) and Flamini, closing the season on second place behind Juve. Third place goes to Udinese this year, which made no mistakes in the match for the preliminary round of the Champions League: Di Natale and Fabbrini guaranteed the team a 2-0 victory over Catania. Lazio, Napoli and Inter will play in the Europa League next season. Lazio finished fourth thanks to a 3-1 victory against Inter. Inter scored first (penalty by Milito) but Lazio soon came along side with Kozak end then finished off Inter with goals by Candreva and Mauri. Napoli booked a fruitless victory, beating Siena 2-1 thanks to two goals made by Dossena. The club stays fifth despite this result. Roma said goodbye to its Spanish coach Luis Enrique after one year, which ended in a mere seventh place for the team, sealed by a 3-2 success against Cesena. Cesena, Lecce (beaten 1-0 in Verona by Chievo) and Novara are relegated to Serie B. Genoa celebrated this weekend, safe in Serie A after beating Palermo 2-0. The Italian season ends next Sunday, with the Italian Cup final in Rome between Juventus and Napoli.
