Manchester - AFP

England captain Alastair Cook won the toss and elected to field in the fifth and final one-day international (ODI) against Australia at Old Trafford here on Tuesday. England, already a series-winning 3-0 up, made one change from the side that won the fourth ODI by eight wickets at Chester-le-Street on Saturday. Off-spinner James Tredwell, in his first ODI in over a year, replaced seamer Tim Bresnan, out with a sore elbow. That meant England were fielding two spinners, with Samit Patel retaining his place in the side. Australia were forced into making two changes after experienced paceman Brett Lee and all-rounder Shane Watson both withdrew from the tour after suffering calf injuries while bowling at Chester-le-Street. Their places were taken by Steven Smith and Xavier Doherty as Australia also opted to field two spinners, with wicket-keeper Matthew Wade filling the opener's spot vacated by Watson. Australia opted to leave out left-arm quick Mitchell Johnson, who had insisted he had recovered from a foot injury that sidelined him on Saturday. Rain had reduced this day/night match to a 32 overs per side contest. England: Alastair Cook (capt), Ian Bell, Jonathan Trott, Ravi Bopara, Eoin Morgan, Craig Kieswetter (wkt), Samit Patel, Stuart Broad, James Tredwell, Steven Finn, James Anderson Australia: David Warner, Matthew Wade (wkt), Peter Forrest, Michael Clarke (capt), David Hussey, George Bailey, Steven Smith, Ben Hilfenhaus, Xavier Doherty, Clint McKay, James Pattinson Umpires: Aleem Dar (PAK) and Ian Gould (ENG) TV umpire: Marais Erasmus (RSA) Match referee: Javagal Srinath (IND)
