Palestinian expert Asaad Abu Sharkh praised the latest steps in the framework of the Palestinian reconciliation, saying that the Palestinian Authority recently came and finally received the crossings in the Gaza Strip.

He added that the Rafah crossing in particular is, unfortunately, not only in the hands of the Palestinians or the Egyptians, but there are European international observers who must be at the crossing, saying that any opening of the crossing must be agreed with three parties, the Palestinian party and the Egyptian party, and finally the international or European party, it is not decided to open the crossing only one party, but the consensus of the three parties.

He stressed, “Even when the Rafah crossing is opened in the coming period, according to the circumstances, I do not think it will open immediately. It will take some time to agree between the three parties on the mechanism of opening it, its hours and opening days, the numbers that will continue today, Including patients, students or residents, I think that after agreeing on all these issues will open the crossing, but in part, as 3 days a week, by agreement between the three parties.”

He continued that the attempt to assassinate the commander of the security forces in the Gaza Strip, Major General Tawfiq Abu Naim, will not affect reconciliation efforts for one reason, saying that the real implementation of the bombing and behind it is Israel. The occupation does not want reconciliation.

He added that that the Palestinian factions made their decision to respond to the crime of the Israeli occupation in Khan Younis, which resulted in the death of the last 7 "citizens," noting that they agreed that the response would not be a traditional, that is not a burst of rockets and ends.

He added that the crime is great and the event is great, and the response will be of the kind that is well thought out and thoroughly studied, saying that the Israelis exert their efforts to undermine the Palestinian and Arab efforts to undermine the national reconciliation.

He stressed that Israel does not want reconciliation to reach the level of the handover of the Gaza Strip and the extension of its legal and political jurisdiction over Gaza, saying that try to block the way through getting a response from the Islamic Jihad to put the "Al-Quds Brigades" in the face of Hamas and Fatah and Egypt, and the failure of Palestinian reconciliation.
