Current points leader Greg Biffle edged A.J. Allmendinger for the pole Friday in qualifying for Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Biffle had a lap time of 125.215 mph at the half-mile track. His lap was .001 of a second quicker than that of Allmendinger. It was the 10th pole of Biffle's Sprint Cup career. He has taken the points lead thanks to third-place finishes in each of the season's first three races. Ryan Newman qualified third, followed by Jeff Gordon and Brad Keselowski, who won the most recent race contested at Bristol last August. The rest of the Top 10 spots on the grid will be taken up by Regan Smith, Aric Almirola, Carl Edwards, Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne. Defending race champion Kyle Busch will start 13th.
