Manly's Test back-rower Tony Williams is facing a seven-match ban after being charged with a dangerous throw by the NRL match review committee. Williams was slapped with a grade four charge after picking up Cronulla hooker Isaac De Gois, unending him and throwing him to the ground in the Sharks' 17-14 win at Toyota Stadium on Monday night. Should Manly contest the charge at the NRL judiciary, Williams would risk a 10-match ban. De Gois appeared lucky to escape injury as he landed on his head and neck. A seven-game ban would rule the Williams - who made his Test debut last year - out of Australia's clash with New Zealand next month. He would also not play another game before the opening State of Origin opener, putting his chances of securing a first NSW jumper in severe jeopardy.
