Jason Kubel pounded a pair of homers Saturday and the Arizona Diamondbacks launched four long balls in all in their 8-5 win over San Diego. Aaron Hill and Justin Upton also went deep for the D-backs, who collected 15 hits en route to evening their three-game series. Upton finished 4-for-5, Adam Eaton added three hits and Jake Elmore drove in two runs for the victors. Wade Miley (15-9) earned the decision despite allowing five runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings. He walked three and struck out six. Bryan Shaw, Brad Ziegler and Matt Lindstrom combined for 2 2/3 scoreless frames and J.J. Putz struck out the side in the ninth for his 29th save. Padres starter Casey Kelly (1-1) was rocked for six runs on eight hits, lasting just 2 1/3 innings. Logan Forsythe belted a two-run homer for San Diego.
