Roger Federer collected a record 234th Grand Slam match victory in advancing Wednesday to the third round of the French Open. Federer, No. 3 in the world, defeated Adrian Ungur 6-3, 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-3 for a win that allowed him to pass Jimmy Connors for the most major-tournament match wins in the Open Era. Federer was solid in the first two sets but seemed to lose his edge in the third set when Ungur won the final four points in the tiebreaker to claim the set. But Federer, who didn't lose his serve all day, won 71 percent of the points on serve in the fourth set and advanced. World No. 1 Novak Djokovic posted a 6-0, 6-4, 6-4 win over Blaz Kavcic in his second-round match Wednesday. Djokovic saw just three break points -- all in the second set -- in the match. Djokovic has won his last 23 Grand Slam matches, with his most recent major-tournament loss coming last year in the French Open semifinals to Federer. No. 7-seeded Tomas Berdych ousted Michael Llodra 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 without having to deal with a break point. Berdych had just six unforced errors. Ninth-seeded Juan Martin del Potro topped Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-3), 6-4, 6-4. Other seeded players advancing early Wednesday were No. 21 Marin Cilic, 22nd-seeded Andreas Seppi and No. 31 Kevin Anderson. Unseeded Nicolas Devilder got past Michael Berrer in straight sets in earning a third-round berth where he'll meet Djokovic.
