Neil Walker hit a tiebreaking home run in the fifth Friday to finish off the scoring and bring the Pittsburgh Pirates a 4-3 victory over Miami. The Pirates won their third in a row and stayed within a half game of the NL Central-leading Cincinnati Reds. Pittsburgh overcame a two-run deficit in the fourth and then went in front on Walker's eighth homer of the season, which he hit off Ricky Nolasco as the leadoff batter. The two-run rally in the Pittsburgh fourth featured the 20th home run of the season by Pedro Alvarez. Clint Barmes singled in the tying run later in the inning. Jose Reyes hit a solo shot for the Marlins in the first. Kevin Correia (7-6) worked five innings to get the win, allowing three runs on eight hits with five strikeouts. Joel Hanrahan survived a ninth-inning jam to earn his 27th save. Hanrahan put two runners on with one away before striking out both Reyes and Emilio Bonifacio to end the game. Nolasco (8-8) gave up all four runs on eight hits in six innings.
