Prince Fielder socked a go-ahead, two-run homer in the eighth inning Sunday and Detroit moved to the brink of a division title with a 2-1 win over Minnesota. Fielder's opposite-field poke against Minnesota reliever Jared Burton (3-2) -- his 30th of the season -- bounced off the top of the right-field wall and bounded into the stands for the Tigers' two runs. Phil Coke (2-3) earned the victory, Octavio Dotel escaped a jam in the bottom of the eighth and Jose Valverde picked up his 34th save for the Tigers, who reduced their magic number to win the American League Central crown to one. Detroit third baseman Miguel Cabrera went 0-for-3 but retained his bid for an AL triple crown, finishing the day with a .325 batting average -- two points better than the Twins' Joe Mauer, who had three of Minnesota's 10 hits.
