Washington - UPI

The top four teams remain the same in the USA Today Coaches college football poll, with Alabama still a unanimous choice for No. 1. Alabama (9-0) survived a stiff test from Louisiana State and, for the fourth straight week, collected all 59 first-place mentions from the poll's coaches. That 21-17 Alabama win caused the only changes in the Top 10 as LSU falls from fifth to No. 9 and four teams inch up one spot each. Oregon (9-0) keeps the No. 2 spot ahead of third-ranked Kansas State (9-0) while Notre Dame (9-0) is again fourth after a three-overtime win over Pittsburgh. Georgia (8-1) moves to No. 5, with Florida State (8-1) in sixth and Florida (8-1) seventh. Clemson (8-1) is voted eighth ahead of LSU (7-2) while Louisville (9-0) keeps the No. 10 ranking. South Carolina (7-2) is still 11th but Oregon State (7-1) passes Oklahoma (6-2) for 12th, leaving the Sooners 13th. Texas A&M (7-2) is up two to 14th and Stanford (7-2) is again No. 15. Nebraska (7-2) is up five places to 16th and Texas (7-2) goes from 21st to No. 17 while Louisiana Tech (8-1) matches Nebraska's five-spot jump and is 18th. UCLA (7-2) enters the poll at 19th and Rutgers (7-1) gains five places to 20th after a bye week. Northwestern (7-2), unranked last week, is 21st while No. 22 Southern California (6-3) and 23rd-ranked Mississippi State both slide five places. Boise State (7-2) sags from 14th to No. 24 and Toledo (8-1) makes the rankings at 25th. West Virginia, Texas Tech and Oklahoma State -- all Big 12 members -- dropped out of the Top 25 this week. Key games this week include two SEC matchups with Texas A&M at Alabama and Mississippi State at LSU. Also, Oregon State plays at Stanford.
