Zamalek forward Mahmoud Abdel-Razek "Shikabala" has been handed a LE30,000 fine by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) for stepping onto the running track during a league game despite being suspended. The 25-year-old, who was serving the first of a two-match ban received for mocking the referee in a league game last week, was caught by television cameras greeting fans during Zamalek’s 1-1 draw with Wadi Degla on Thursday. Rules stipulate that suspended players are not allowed to be present on the pitch or the running track. Shikabala has been Zamalek’s best performer this season, notching 13 goals to top the scorers’ chart as well as creating several opportunities for his teammates. Zamalek, who finished runners up to league champions Ahly, were also fined LE150,000 for crowd trouble against Wadi Degla. The White Knights’ fans clashed with security personnel at half-time, injuring two policemen in the process. Eighteen supporters were arrested. Ahly will also have to pay LE15,000 after their fans hurled insults at the opposition and LE10,000 after they directed a laser beam at Arab Contractors players during Thursday’s league game. The Red Devils won a seventh consecutive league title after crushing already-relegated Contractors 5-1. From ahramonline.
