Audi was today announced as the Official VIP Transportation Partner of the "Challenge Bahrain" international triathlon championship, to be held on December 6.
The partnership furthers both Challenge Bahrain's and Audi's missions in promoting youth and sports awareness and extends the luxury automotive brand’s global commitment to the development of sporting talent, through the support of Bahrain’s growing athletic community.
Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa stressed that the joining of Audi Motor Company to the sponsors' family for "Challenge Bahrain" proves the keenness of the private sector to contribute to the event's success.
Shaikh Nasser stressed that this support will undoubtedly contribute to the provision of all the factors leading to the success of the event, which will have a large number of participants from the Bahraini youth, and to achieve the promotion of Bahrain's position as a center of triathlon sport in the Middle East.
Commenting on the partnership, Audi Centre Bahrain Dealer Principal Geetan Jessen applauded the dedication of the race participants. He commented: "The demands of this race are tough. Not only do the athletes have to possess a high level of physical endurance, they also require the determination to push themselves to the limit in a competitive and challenging environment. As a brand that is committed to leading innovation and pushing boundaries both on the road and on the racetrack, these are qualities that we can relate to and admire. We’re proud to be involved and offer our support."
On the other hand, Bahrain Triathlon Association President and Challenge Bahrain’s GM Shaikh Sager bin Salman Al Khalifa stated: "Through Challenge Bahrain, we aim to promote a positive change in our society, economy, and most of all in our lifestyle. Audi understood this very well and came on board to help us reach our goals. We are grateful to the leadership of Audi and this enables us to certainly see their qualities transferable to their products. We hope to continue our relationship with Audi for time to come."
Challenge Bahrain is the first race of its kind in the Kingdom where over 1,000 participants will take on the 113km race consisting of a 1.9km swim, 90km bike, and a 21km run through Bahrain’s past, present and future.
Challenge Bahrain takes place on December 06, 2014 starting at 7am from Bahrain Bay.
