Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received here today Bahrain's junior volleyball team which won the trophy of the 13th GCC Championship, concluded recently in Abu Dhabi. During the audience, Shaikh Nasser conveyed greetings and earnest congratulations from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the members of the team, asserting that such an historic victory is the fruit of HM the King's incessant support for the sport movement which has earned the kingdom innumerable honourable achievements during HM's glorious era. He also congratulated the GCC champions for their heroic victory and praised their outstanding performance during the tournament, calling upon them to exert more efforts in order to earn more achievements. He also pledged that BOC will provide necessary support for the team and upgrade volleyball in the kingdom. Shaikh Nasser also commended the efforts made by the Bahrain Volleyball Association (BVA), led by Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, to create perfect success conditions for the team. On his part, BVA Deputy Chairman Jehad Khalfan lauded Shaikh Nasser's support for the team, which, he said, motivated the players during the event, adding that BVA will develop programmes and plans to improve the players' skills and performance. Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa and Secretary General of BOC Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa were also present.
