The first of the three Qatar Stars League matches scheduled for Monday between Al Gharrafa and Al Khor, starting at 4pm at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium here, gains some academic importance. With six points each from as many matches, both teams are far behind table leaders Al Sadd (18 Points) placed as they are in the bottom half of the 12-team League which is in its seventh week. Both have won only one match so far, drawn three and lost two. Both have similar goal difference (-1). Al Khor have conceded eight goals and scored seven while Al Gharrafa have conceded five and scored four. It is a must win situation for both outfits. Bottom-placed Al Kharaitiyat (3 points from three draws) would also be hoping to turn their wretched luck and form when they face Al Rayyan who are currently placed fifth with ten points from six matches. Prospects of Al Kharaitiyat notching their first win of the season look dim when they face at 6.30pm at Al Khor Stadium the Rayyan boys who are enjoying good form. In the third match today, starting at 6.30pm at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, League leaders Al Sadd play Al Wakrah who are third with 11 points, one point behind second-placed Al Jaish who had a good outing on Monday, dismissing Al Arabi 3-0 at the Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium.
