The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will held a joint press conference with Occidental Petroleum of Qatar Ltd. (Oxy Qatar) on Sunday 28th September at the Qatar Olympic Committee tower. During the conference, it will be announced that Oxy Qatar will be the exclusive sponsor of Al Firjan Playgrounds. The sponsorship agreement will be signed by Mr. Steve Kelly, Oxy Qatar President and General Manager and Mr. Khalid Hamad Al Mohannadi, the QOC Assistant Secretary General for Technical Support The event will be attended by officials from Oxy Qatar, QOC officials and local media representatives. Al Firjan playgrounds project serves the strategic objectives of both Qatar Olympic Committee and Qatar sport sector strategy (2011-2016) as a part of National Development strategy 2011-2016 to achieve the Qatar Vision 2030 objectives, which are based on three main pillars: increasing community participation in sport, improving and preparing special and public sport facilities, and developing talented athletes. It is anticipated that developing such playgrounds will encourage citizens and residents to participate in sport and physical activity. Source: Qatar Olympic Committee
