The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa invites all the Bahrain youth to attend the "Challenge Bahrain" international triathlon championship, which will held on Saturday.
Shaikh Nasser stressed that the presence of the public will have a positive impact on the race and it will encourage participants to give their maximum during the swimming, cycling and running legs. The triathlon will involve more than 1,000 athletes from 51 countries, including prominent names in the world of triathlon and a number of young talented Bahrainis.
"Challenge Bahrain" will have the participation of a group of world and Olympic champions, such as the Australian Mirinda Carfrae, German Sebastian Kienle, Briton Rachel Joyce, Swiss Caroline Stephen and German Jan Frodino, in addition to some of the other contestants in the various age groups from Bahrain and abroad.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said in a statement: "We look forward to the Bahraini fans to come to the event and to encourage the participants, in addition to supporting the Bahraini youth who are taking part, which numbered in 200 young Bahrainis.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad added: "We aim through this event to attract a more Bahrainis especially the young to participate in the sport of triathlon with the world's best athletes. "I can say that the large participation of Bahrainis for this event makes us very proud and it has exceeded all our expectations, so this race will be no doubt interesting especially with the participation of other world champions as well." Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad noted: "It's exciting that Challenge Bahrain will be live on Bahrain TV, radio and on the website, and will convey the details of a number of comments from the world champions."
