Coach Fathi Mabrouk

Al-Ahly Sporting Club said Thursday that its football team's coach Fathi Mabrouk would retain his post for the next season.

The decision was taken due to the positive results he achieved with the football team over the past period.

The club's football committee decided to grant Mabrouk the full authority to choose his staff, and the list of the soccer team for the new season.

Mabrouk was named as the team's coach in May, replacing sacked manager Juan Carlos Garrido who lost his post following Ahly's exit from the CAF Champions League round of 16, after losing to Moroccan side Moghreb Tetouan 4-3 on penalties.

The committee also tasked Alaa Abdel Sadeq with the post of the team manager.
