Kuwaiti rally driver Meshari Al-Thifeeri was crowned champion of Cyprus Rally's Group "N" for the second year in a row.
Following a great performance during the tournament, which concluded last night, Al-Thifeeri was announced champion regardless of the Rally's last round, which will be held i Dubai in November.
"This victory never came easy, but due to great efforts throughout the tournament, which saw fierce competition among all drivers," Al-Thifeeri told KUNA by phone.
Winning the title for the second time in a row "shouldered me a great responsibility to continue to represent my country in an ideal manner," he noted.
The Cyprus Rally is part of the Middle East Rally, which consists of 15 rounds, with different types of grounds and terrains that require a level of expertise from the participating teams.
The rounds are usually held in Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon and Cyprus, while the tournament's conclusion is in Dubai.
