The Kuwaiti champion Hussein Al-Mahdi won open contest of Kuwait Desert Challenge motorsport championship that came to an end in southern Kuwait late on Friday.
He was followed by the Saudi Salem Alabdul-Aal while another Kuwaiti, Salem Al-Dhafiri, came third.
In the 8-cylinder category, Bader Baqer was first, followed by the Saudi Nahi Al-Shemmari and Salem Al-Sarraf third. In the 6-clynider group, Saud Al-Omani emerged the top champion followed by Salem Al-Hajeri, then Jarrah Al-Rabee'ah.
The competition was held on a 600-long bumpy circuit in Bnaider, south of Kuwait city, with sharp turning points and hindering sand dunes.
The first edition of Kuwait Desert Challenge was organized by Basel Al-Salem Al-Sabah Motor Racing Club. The second round would be held early next month.
