The National Guard Commander Lt-General His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa received National Guard athletes who participated and won in the "Challenge Bahrain Triathlon" hosted in the Kingdom with participation of international champions.
His Highness congratulated the two teams on winning leading positions in the Triathlon competition. The National Guard participated with two teams: the first team won the first position at the world level and the second team won the third position for Bahrain.
His Highness said that the accomplishment is considered one of the national achievements that honours Bahrain and makes it one of the leading sports countries. His Highness reiterated full support to the many sports programmes organised by the National Guard Headquarters to provide opportunities to its personnel to participate at national, Arab and international sports functions.
His Highness praised the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and constant developing of the Triathlon sport which has gained the care from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
The meeting was attended by the National Guard's Staff Director, Major-General Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Saud Al Khalifa, and the Operations and Training Division's Head, Lt-Colonel Fahad Majid Al-Rumaihi.
